In this self-portrait made with dry pastel, I explored the depth and subtlety that this medium can offer. This technique allows for the mixing and layering of colors to create natural and delicate gradients, essential in the realistic representation of skin and features.
The importance of "soft edges" or softened borders in my work is crucial. These gentle transitions between colors add a dimension of softness and realism to this self-portrait. By softening the contours and subtly blending the shades, I was able to create an impression of depth and emotion. This portrait is not just a representation of my face, but an exploration of the richness and finesse offered by dry pastel.
